This week-long performance of Shrek, The Musical was Josh's first venture into live lighting as a lighting director. Working with the Director, he designed the Lighting on ETC Nomad, having received on-the-job training. which taught him to work under pressure and cope with all of the skills needed to be a lighting director in the industry.
Josh has been a guitar backline tech for gigs in Stafford. This involved dealing with the guitarists, changing strings, tuning the guitars, and making sure the guitars were clean and ready to play. This experience taught him skills such as working under pressure and communicating with musicians were key here.
Josh was the Recording, Mixing, and mastering engineer on the cover of this song. I had to ensure the microphones were set correctly and the levels were coming in at a good level. I also had to make sure I communicated well with the performers. In the mixing process, I added effects and edited the track to get rid of unwanted noise.
Josh has been the Sound Engineer at a number of gigs. He has experience setting up the PA and Mixing desk and helping with on-stage tasks. This has had its own challenges. He is able to problem-solve "on the fly" with issues such as faulty mics
Josh has recorded and mixed 3 cover songs for a duo. These were, 'Sleep on My Side' by Megan Moroney, 'Stranger' by Olivia Rodrigo and 'Who Knew' by Pink
Josh was responsible for microphones and ensured the levels were right. He also had to communicate with the clients in the studio so they didn't feel left out of the loop about what was happening. In the mixing process, he balanced the levels, adding reverb and effects to ensure that it sounded exactly as the clients asked.
Following the success of Shrek the Musical, Josh was lucky enough to be invited back to his old middle school to be a lighting Director. In this role, he programmed all of the lights for this show using the theatre's standard program, ETCnomad. He also got on-the-job training in rigging lights. In addition to programming the lights, he also made them a QLab File with sound effects that he operated as well as lighting along side the lighting.
Josh was The lighting and sound technition for this show. This was Josh's first venture Into time code. He time coded the lights to the music for a dance routeen. During the show he watched over the lighting and sound to make sure everything ran smoothly. He was working in ETC Nomad and QLab. He was using the Network cues in QLab to trigger the cues in ETC.

This was a Amature Theatre group panto. This was a great show to work on becuase it was in a challanging venue. This theatre Had old equipment in and we had to bring alot of equipment ourselfs. During the load in I was riging lights and making sure that all of the DMX Adresses were correct on the theatres own lights. When the show was running I was the Sound engineer. I had 13 radio mics to manage as well as having 4 condener microphones at the frount of the stage. I then had sound effects and backing tracks to manage along with it.
Josh was the lighting and sound desiner on this show. This has help him to work in challenging spaces. I was working with an all LED set up that he riged. He then programed ON ETC Nomad. He had to sause all of the sound effects and then put them together with the lights in QLab. This was a brillent expirence for him and has helped him to have a greater undertsnading of both pacages.
This was Josh's First expiraince of running a festival. This was at one of the local Schhols that he has done some work for before. During this festival, He has dealt with 16 inputs as well as moniters. All of this was controled with an Ipad Using a Behringer XR18 Mixing desk. He had to deal with mixing a show outdoors and in the wet weather. This was a great expirance for him and the childeren that played.
